The way you describe it, it should be fine to ride. Just glance down occasionally, and if the BB has wiggled itself loose to the point that some of the threads are exposed, STOP riding it. If it's that loose though, you may be able to tighten it back down with your hand (remember that it'd left-threaded if you have a standard English/ISO BB).
