On an organized ride that requires flags, I think that's about right.
BTW, if you're going to race someone, try actually participating in a race. I can round up an extra bike if you want to try it and see what slouches we racers are.
Or if you have an extra 'bent I'm sure there are plenty of us roadies who'd be happy to smoke you.
