I am guessing that Honda wants the transmission cooler beause they have no control over what you might be putting in that 2" receiver. Like all those sockets that go back to Sears that "never" had a cheater bar used on them. The 1 1/4" hitch with the adapter may be the best solution. I would get the 1 1/4" bike rack and use the adapter on the truck receiver. The 1 1/4" hitch to 2" adapter will make the bike rack extend back pretty far.
