It was the first time I had put a heavy load in the panniers(full load of groceries). The bag was sitting a little low, so I adjusted it a little which was a bad idea. I think it came loose and then grabbed the spoke. I also made another mistake, which was braking hard after the rear wheel locked. Once I did that, I started to fishtail, then lose control entirely. Actually, the elbow was the least painful part of the accident. My shoulder was in AGONY for about two days after, and it still hurts right now.


As far as the rash goes, what I did was use a large gauze bandage which I then covered with this stuff called Aquaphor, then taped the bandage over the road rash. Once it healed a bit, I switched to a large bandaid.
