One Goal and a bonus

I went out for a ride Saturday, riding my age (the bonus) and completing my first one Thousand miles (the goal) on my new recumbent. I rode the Sandcreek trail and that was the big dissapointment. There were so many detours as to make it completely un-enjoyable. The city has in several places blocked the trail, but give no direction to the detour. Turned South on the Platte river trail, and made really good time to REI. Stopped there and had some fig newtons. Rode the Cherry creek trail to Highline and the highline home. I managed a decent 15.7 mph average, with a 10 mile stretch at 22 mph (I was trying to stay up with a wedgie who never got further than 100 feet in front of me). Overall a GREAT day. Celebrated with a bottle of Sam Adams "octoberfest" and a piece of cherry pie.
