Men's jr 17-18 rr is over, and that Brandon M kid didn't actually win..
And @Doge's kid got DQ'd? Explain!! I hope it wasn't from crinkling his number.. =]
Anyway the Cat 1 race is under way!

I noted in the Nor Cal thread, but local Jr teammate from last year rolled solo in the 15-16 race for the last 20 miles. Had his gap up to 50 seconds with 10k to go and 30s at 5k to go. Sadly, got caught on the steep finishing 1k climb with 200m or so left and just blew up. So close to Jr glory...

There will be a communique from USAC later discussing the relegations, DQs and fines. We could have a betting pool and see who gets the reason for the DQ right.
It seems hard to get DQed at nationals in the junior field unless it was something fragrant that was discussed at the start that affected safety and stated by officials that no mercy will be shown for offenders. I could see centerline rule violation being the most likely. Maybe no pins in his number. That would be hysterical.

Probably a center line issue, if I had to guess. Or do they get the full road?
Either way @Doge, as much as I'm poking fun, I'm really sorry to see this.

Same kid won last year 17-18. Pretty impressive. Helps to be in the break with your teammate who is TT NC as well!

I am with Mattm that it really sucks that Daniel got DQed...for whatever reason. Hopefully, he will do well in other events. I wish him the best.

One of the local kids here flatted in the 17-18 field and the neutral support car just drove by him without stopping. He apparently was in a break at the time.
And a guy I used to race against's daughter took second in the 17-18 women's race. I think she will be at Lees-McRae next fall.
