any tips on good shop and cycling club/teams in lowell Mass

I just moved here from Canada and I'm looking to race some cross but then road in the spring/ summer

can someone point me in the right direction

I'm not a guy who gets on the podium very often but I'm willing to work for the good of the team/ sacrifice myself

If you're really from Canada, why are none of the sentences appended with 'eh?'

Welcome aboard. Paging @mike868y and @grolby, they should be able to point you in the right direction for MA CX.

Well I'm not familiar with bike shops in the Lowell area, but in terms of clubs, the Minuteman Road Club and Boston Road Club both come to mind. Both are large and active clubs with respect to riding, I would say MRC has a more active racing team with plenty of riders both in CX and on the road.

As for a bit more club agnostic stuff, you can do shop rides in the area. Someone in my club does group rides with Goodale's in Nashua, NH. And Ride Studio Cafe in Lexington has some pretty solid group rides (I've never done one, but I know that attracts strong riders), but this would be a bit of a hike from Lowell, possibly worth a weekend drive down. Welcome to the area, you aren't too far from some really great riding spots

he was sitting on my wheel at hartford while i was closing a gap to a little group and kept yelling at me to go harder and i was like "I CAN'T GO ANY HARDER" and i think he was breathing through his nose.

but yeah, i would agree that MRC seems like a pretty open and inviting club with some very competitive racers.

thanks everyone

I do not mind drive to do a longer ride

guess I'll need to get on strava and look for routes as well

lowell doesn't seem to cyclist friendly.. the roads are pretty rough and they seem to lack any bike lanes

I did visit one shop and the guy there told me you can google everything.... doubt they will ever get any business from me now
