Oil on pro's legs...
Occasionally on some races (whether one days or stage races) i see racers legs oiled down. is this massage oil applied by the team masseurs? or is it oil to keep the legs warm during colder days (spring classics or colder mt stages)? i've heard both and was wondering if either was correct...
...or just tanning oil haha

Oil is required for massages. Thus it stays on skin. You can wipe of if you want.
One thing to note is many products in the market today tend to block pores thus not allowing your legs to breath. This is very bad and can cause crmaps to some extent.

My young friend who has been racing in Belgium told me there are specific oils the Europeans use to keep their legs warm. He has told me a couple of specific brands made specifically for the purpose. They also use some stick on pads, almost like huge bandaids to keep their knees warm rather than knee warmers.
