Truly, I'm not sure. I need to learn the laws of NYC, but I pretty much do whatever I want anyway. Bikes are second class citizens, so f' it. I'll keep myself safe and moving forward however I wish without disrupting traffic flow.

Oh hell yes. Under Vision Zero (tm) you would be ticketed just as a driver would in that situation. My brother in law got a $190 ticket last week for not coming to a complete stop at a red light before turning right -- on his bicycle, with no cross traffic.
