Lance Armstrong's socks...

Has anyone else noticed that Armstrong wears the longest socks in the peleton? They look like tennis socks to me...

Watching him today was unbelievable. made me realize how in control of this race he really is. Did you notice how he was just toying with Beloki at the end.
This guy is inhuman.

miguel indurain also wore long socks, there has to be a connection with long socks and winning the tour...

i've just gone and bought some of those white 1980's style basketball socks with the red hoops at the top of em. just gotta wait for my 2003 tdf start invite to come through the post.

My guess is they're his lucky socks or something. Everyone has some kind of lucky charm.

I think the long socks are for hiding all the drugs he isn't taking.

Or maybe he just isn't very fashion conscious.

Or maybe he's do as much as he can to piss off the French and their fashion sense (like McEnroe not wanting to wear white at Wimbleton).

Or...

Oh my God! On the poor buggers!!! Great ways to make fans!!!
Interviewer (in the year 2015): So, Lance, what do you think is your greatest accomplishment?

L. Armstrong: Discounting my seven Tour wins, my victory over cancer, bringing cycling back in vogue in America, and all the charity work I've done, I think it was pissing on some Frenchpeople while looking like the Cycling equivilent of Pippi Longstockings. Yep, that's gotta be it.

What this means is that if you want to really fly as fast as Lance, you best be cycling with hip waders.

well...you can get some and see if they make you faster...

https://store.trekbikes.com/shopping/...ategory_id=760

For my money, they are the most comfortable sock I have ever worn. Good for one MPH (1.5KPH)

They also make a wool winter sock that is great...doesn't bunch up like some do and wool, so not too thick, but do help keep your feet worm on cool days.

it's definately not about the socks........

@ $11 for a pair of socks, I would rather get several pairs of socks and spend the extra cash somewhere else.

also, who wants to support nike? huge global corporation.

I didn't pay for them..."for my money" is a figure of speech.

What's wrong with being a huge corporation???
