Please remind me about Armstrong and Cofidis

We just had the most recent 60 Minutes story on Amrstrong, and I'm pretty sure they showed footage of him training with Confidis.

When was this?

What was the sequence of his team associations after he got sick?

I take it he was quickly dumped by Motorola....then what happened?

Did he just go from Motorola to US Postal, or was there some stuff in between?

I thought US Postal just took over Motorola, which means he was just picked up by the
same team who dumped him.

Thanks Walter. You're doing some fine work with that German team of yours.

I'm sorry, I guess should get one of Lance's books, but what happened to his
relationship with Cofidis, and why did he tell 60 Minutes that "absolutely no one was interested
in signing me after my cancer until US Postal came along"...??

Thx, I try. These riders these days. Lance came over the other night during dinner with his yellow jersey and asked if anyone wanted it, but all the riders looked at each other and shrugged, then said, "nine, it will just make us have to work harder." What can a team manager do??

Cofidis gave Lance an opportunity after he returned but they had what I would consider reasonable doubts about his ability to return to full form. After his 1998 Paris-Nice fiasco, it appeared those doubts were justified, but Lance proved everyone wrong. Of course, Lance is a loyalty guy. If you're not for him, you're against him, so it makes sense that he would forget to mention that Cofidis did give him a chance; he just wasn't ready at the time.

thanks Walter, or is that "Volta"?

I used to race against a guy named Retlaw, who swore 'black and blue' that he was named
after his dad, Walter...but backwards.
