La Vuelta begins!
As one might have expected, Once won the opening TTT. Joseba Beloki will wear the first golden jersey. The Posties did a great ride and finished only seconds back with Antonio Cruz crossing the line first for them.

Should I expect the Peleton of about 200 to contain the winner of the next few flatland stages? Or is there a chance there will be breakaway winners? Or even a breakup of the peleton? Again, I'm new to racing... most of what I know is from this year's TDF.
Should I wait until stage 5 to see a breakup in the main GC?
I can't wait!!!

During the three Vueltas I have watched I doubt a single stage has passed without someone (or a few) trying a break away, and it's hard to know which ones are going to succeed. Judging from the profiles of the next three days, I'd say tomorrow would be the best day for a successful break. Stages three and four looks too flat for a break away, but if there are some serious crosswinds (not unusual in Spain) it can cause splits in the main group that could affect the final GC.
Stage five is definitely a place where the Vuelta could be lost. The first part is not as easy as it looks, and the final climb is just as long as it looks . On the other hand, I don't think the final climb of six is long enough to do much damage to the serious GC contenders.
I can't wait either .

Is there a possibility that the guys going for the GC win will try a break during any of the flat stages? Or will they leave all the GC shakeup to happen in the mountains and TTs?

Who exactly is hosting the vuelta this year? I guess it's Phil and Paul, and bob roll? And who is there for the cheesecake factors? During the Tour it was that dumbkopf frankie Andreu. What a dunce!
Did cipo wear some wacky skinsuit during the TTT? If not, I hope he wears one during the ITT if he hangs on that long- apparently he's not planning to finish. That suit he wore in the Giro was hilarious.
