Boonen in elite company
By winning the Worlds, Paris Roubaix and TOF in one year Tom Boonen got himself in a pretty elite group. No one has ever won those three races in a year, but there are many such combinations when you talk 3 or 4 races. BUT:
Before him only 2 riders ever won Paris Roubaix and the Worlds in hte same year
and
Out of the 5 Monuments and the Worlds (6 races) only 2 riders had won 3 or more in a year.
Oh and this is only for a total of 3 riders because one is the same guy in the same year.

Yes! Talk of Boonen reminds me of Quick Step which reminds me of Patrick Lefevre which reminds of all the great classics teams he directed which reminds that the best time of year is nearing. Bring on the one-days!
