Tom Boonen leaving USPS
Citing not enough riding time, Boonen is breaking his contract and leaving Postal Service. Quick Step appears to be his first choice. Decision following the Zolder Worlds.

And USPS wasn't racing him very much because they didn't want to burn him out....what a loss.

What's ironic about all this is Boonen made a big deal about his comfort with USPS and his racing calendar for the year. Dirk Demol is the one who really "discovered" Tom and they were clear with him that, at his early carreer stage they did not want to burn him out.
It sounds to me like someone has put the bug in his ear about being the next Museeuw and he sounds like he's headed to the new Domo/Lotto combo team.
Good luck to him, but many many riders fall off due to being over-raced and Demol only has Boonen's best interests at heart. But $$$ always wins over trust
I read Bruyneel's comments about this...he was pretty ticked.
