TT helmets

Some come with an integrated eye-shield thingy and some without. Any reason to get one or the other?

"Eye-shield thingy' can be a bit more aerodynamic and can also not fit you properly.

Here's a link to the helmets I'm considering. My race team has sponsorship from them, but i don't know which helmet do choose. Any thoughts on this?

Bug/rain protection, wind tends to make eyes water, looks like it might be a little more comfy than wearing sunglasses underneath the helmet.

Methinks it's removable, so get the cool one, and if the eye protection doesn't work, just remove it.

I've used the Syton's before with and without the sideburn protectors. I prefer sunglasses to the windshield, much more comfortable. As for the sideburn stuff, its supposed to be more aero, but I not a huge fan of how they feel, but that really doesn't matter in a TT (and I use a 15 or so year old Troxel so who am I to really say what feels good?)

How aggressive is your position? If you ride with a flat (or nearly) on a time trial bike, the wings will help to prevent air being "cupped" under the tail of the helmet and will ths make you more aero. If you are not aggressive and there is space between the helmet "tail" and your back, then the wings/windscreen are realistically only adding frontal area which will actually slow you down.

Personally, I use the LAS Chrono, but only because I ride in a very aggressive position. More upright and this helmet would be much worse than a cheaper (and much smaller) Louis Garneau.
