Nice pictures and good eye. Perfect vantage point.
Sorry I did not catch up with you guys on Saturday. Roman and I positioned ourselves in a different place for each of the last three laps. We finally ended up at the 500m marker just before the bunch sprint on the final lap.
There were lots and lots of good vantage points around the Amgen Campus with few spectators. In some areas, there were more volunteers than fans! But that was alright with me. I actually saw myself in the background of one of the Cyclingnews pictures!
I got some pics of my own but my digital camera is just plain aweful compared to yours.

Yeah, being roughly 25 meters from the finish, my lens and arm made it into the ESPN broadcast!

If I don't complain about the equipment, then the budget is never adjusted.

Here's a story that photographers often recite:
Photographer get's onto an elevator with a journalist. Journalist says; "I saw your pictures yesterday, you must have a great camera."
Photographer replies; "I read your story yesterday, you must have a great typewriter."

He had the beard since before the breakup. Well before. Its not uncommon at all for pros in the off season.
