Elkhorn Classic Stage Race

Hey,

I'm near ready to sign up for this race in Oregon later this month. I've heard a lot of good things about it and am wondering if anyone around here has taken part, plans to take part, or has heard something about this race.

https://www.elkhornclassic.com/

It consists of a long ~75 mile road race, a 10 mile ITT, a crit, and a ~100 mile road race.

I've heard a lot of good things about it as well. It was a bit surprising at first to see all the categories doing the same distances. I figure at the very least it will be good for hard training! I'm planning to do the W4.

I'm entered in Cat 3. I'll be going up with 5 friends/teammates from SF (3 of us in Cat 3 and 3 in the Cat 4/5 race). I've talked to people who have done it and had a great time.

I'm still debating on buying clip-on TT bars.

I don't have a lot of info for you. I've been riding the mountains of NE Oregon for a number of years (15+). I've heard this is a good race. It's certainly beautiful country.

Also, just for fun, you might consider a ride up to Anthony Lakes (actually slightly beyond to reach the summit). It's an a** kicking climb especially from the North Powder side. 3582ft to 7414ft in 13mi. Of course, coming back down is the payoff.

Good luck!
