Summer Reading

Any suggestions for reading about life in the Peleton? I'm waiting for Lance's book to come out in soft cover. Just found "A season in Turmoil" and "Conquests and Crises" anything else out there?

Looking for biography or history, preferably contemporary.

Thanks.

Well, Dirtsqueezer, I don't guess this falls into the entertainment reading category you seem to be looking for, but I will mention it anyway because I am impressed. At a local racer's suggestion I bought Friel's "Cyclists Training Bible". It presents one of the most systematic, easy to follow, processes for designing a training program that I have seen. It is actually written for racers with 2-3 years of experience, but even as a new cyclist racing wannabe, I can see how I can benefit from it, just at a very modest level. I feel like I have direction to help me get to a point where I will be ready to join a club and maybe at least keep up with some of the riders on training rides.

I also just got in the mail today the Lance Armstrong/Chris Carmichel 7-week training book. Someone recommended it also. Can't comment yet, though.

Regards,
Raymond

Interesting - Willie's book is not exactly what I was looking for, but will be on my reading list. Thanks for the lead!

Raymond - I am looking for something more along the lines of entertainment/information than training, improvement. My brain just needs the break right now
