Checked out 'Lance Armstrong's War' at the library on Friday and could not put it down over the weekend.

Great stuff. Snappy writing. Fun anecdotes. Cool insights into the <bizarre> world of pro cycling.

Was pleasantly surprised that the book was not overly Lance-centric - lots of neat stuff about Landis, Jan, Ivan, Mayo, et. al.

(I know there are previous threads on this book, but the first one I found got awful ugly there... )

+1... my girlfriend bought me this book last week and it is so refreshing to read a "Lance" book that is not all about him.... but actually protrays his "true" personality as well as talking alot about other riders.

I have soo much respect after reading this book for Landis, Eki, Ulrich, Vino and everyone else that came from hard backgounds.

especially landis and his incredible commitment to his training (at night, freezing weather, parental resistance, etc.)

and had no idea indurain was basque...

always chuckled at the author's description of lance's mom's current husband as 'mr. four/five'...
