PowerTap Use During Wingate Test?
I am doing a Wingate LT VO2 Max test on Monday. I thought about using my Powertap just to see how it is calibrated. I am a little worried that this may be harmful to the Powertap. Does anyone here know?
Thanks in advance, Richard |
what is that? (the test I mean)

oh also my question is, why would it hurt it?

Thanks in advance, Richard As to calibrating a Power Tap, that can easilt be done anytime by hanging a series of weights from a pedal held horizontal while holding the rear wheel still. Then compare the measured torques to the torques you calculate from the suspended weight and the crank length. |

I've heard of a Wingate test, a LT test, and a VO2 Max test, but these are three different tests to measure three different parameters Beyond that, the three tests give results in three different quantities. Wingate=work or energy, LT=power, and VO2 Max = volume O2/time/weight (or sometimes power as LT). I wonder what data you'll get from the test and how you plan to use it.
