Zipp's skewer in a trainer a big no-no?

Zipp's skewer in a trainer a big no-no?
Just got a pair of new Zipp 404's and never really paid any attention to this topic regarding putting a zipp skewer in a trainer. Coming from a triathlon background I never "warmed up" on my bike. On my wheels (which will now become my training wheels) I am using the heavy duty skewer that came with the trainer (use my trainer about 10 times a month).
I remember even with my cheapo wheels the LBS told me not to put that skewer in a trainer.
I have a TT this Sunday, should I warm up on the trainer with my old rear wheel, and prior to racing, switch out the wheel (I have seperate cassettes). Is this what people do with the better wheel sets/warming up on trainers?
Is this even an issue with the skewers, as I thought it was?

All you really need to change is the skewer. The trainer puts a lot of stress on skewers and eventually the skewer can break, which isn't much of a big deal if you're on the trainer, but if you're out there on the road that could spell disaster.
I wouldn't be too worried about actually having the wheel itself on the trainer (with a different skewer), but if you have a set of backup wheels then why not use them to be safe? It doesn't really take much more effort to change the entire wheel than it does to change skewers.
Whatever you do, just don't use the skewer that you use on the trainer out there on the road.

I'd use the spare wheel and trainer skewer, trainers are rather hard on tires, and hell on skewers,
why wear out your race tire and cassette warming up?

It's just as easy to change back and forth from the spare as it is to change out the skewer.
