How to NOT get ahead in Bike racing

too idealistic for his own good?

supremely confident of his own abilities?

not the sharpest knife in the drawer?

I vote for A but I sure hopes he wins some races. It's one thing to loose to a guy who you think is doping...it's another thing to loose when doping to a guy who essentially called you an ******* in the press.

Sweet.

LOL I was sort of thinking the same thing but I wonder if an all clean team could exist...I am sure they would be able to get sponsors.

This sport is the dirtiest sport in the world," Smith said. "There is no other sport that even comes close to the amount of drug use that is going on. It is happening overseas and over here in the U.S. It is happening much more than anyone wants to talk about. It's ridiculous.

i seriously doubt it

I don't want to race for Discovery either, because Basso took my Giro spot.

the kid is all over the place.

great results as a junior, then denouces the sport, then comes back to win race2replace, then denouces the sport further, and then joins a different team and wants to race again.

I guess not. If he did he would be keeping his mouth shut about drugs whether he liked it or not.
What's up with his attitude - saying "I am not interested in Disco because they signed Basso?"

Did he knock his head in a crash and lose all common sense?

+1...I don't recall hearing about Basso failing a drug test, or any credible evidence coming from OP about him. My feeling is that Riis made a mistake by letting him go before the investigation was complete, despite CSC's new drug-free mission statement.

Sorry, but this Smith character sounds like a whiny punk to me. Talented? Yes. A moral center in the otherwise steaming cesspool that is pro cycling? Hardly.

After thinking about it again, why would he dis "Disco" when he won their race and got to ride with them??? Isn't that kind of like biting that hand that fed you (albeit the relationship wasn't permanent)....

Sounds like another whiner that wants to diss the sport he "loves" and just get his name in the paper.

also kinda conceded: "...I was born to race a bike....."
