All was right in my cycling Universe today
Man what a great day for a ride, left the house at 8:15 it was 38 degrees rode 91.1 miles in 4.57 at 200w ave (3.1w/Kg) with about 4k of climbing. Did over 80% of the ride in hr zones 1-2. By the time I got home it was in the low 50's not a cloud in the sky and little or no traffic. Just a really great day on the bike!

nearly a century in under 5hrs staying mostly in zone 1 and 2, plus 4k of climbing?? that's pretty impressive for this time of year. it took me almost 5 hours to get out of bed this morning.

the rain that kicked in last night, stayed for a bit today, but it didn't really matter.
for some reason my rear brakes are F'ed up (new blocks, or maybe the wheels, no idea, and typical - my LBS was shut today, and I have no tools where I am, and didn't really fancy a long ride in southern new england with only a front brake. )
at least someone got a good ride in today.

My last field test was on 2w less than my peak from last year and I raised my LTHR by 3bpm and I don't feel like I'm anywhere near my peak. Things are looking good for the start of the season!

Besides we race nearly every weekend from the end of Jan through May with my three favorite races in the time span.

Sounds like you'll be on form for February.
Your season ends in May, and mine starts in May this year (Knee Surgery = Suck). When do you guys start 'cross down there?

Just wait till summer when I'll be holed up in the air conditioning and you guys will have the nice weather! BTW it was fun...which is the most important component in all of this racing stuff!
