No Leadville for Lance

"Austin, TX – Seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong announced today that he will not be racing the Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race scheduled for August 11, 2007.

Mark Higgins, Armstrong’s manager, said, “Lance had a scheduling conflict come up and he regrettably cannot participate in the event.”

The Leadville 100 race is a very demanding MTB race in Colorado at altitude (10,200’) and includes approximately 14,000’of elevation gain. For more information on this event, please visit

Also, according to Lance Armstrong's war Floyd once rode a wheelie down the side of a mountain after tacoing his front wheel

Yeah this sucks. My boyfriends father is the Race Owner. Just let me tell that what you read in the news is not always true.

As for Floyd he is still a go for the race as far as we know.

Snowy, I am kind of a voyeur in here rarely post. I actually read alot on the Commuter side of the forum. Are you in Leadville? I saw somewhere that you know the folks that put the LT100 on, I was wondering what you know about the lottery? Do they post it online or do I need to wait for my snail mail to arrive? What is the best source in here for info on the race? It seems you are a frequent forum person so I thought I'd ask.
