    Lance does it again...

He's a machine destroying the rest of the competition.

    Here is the end result:

I wish I could've been there to witness it:

I was there last week, folks! It was awesome! Every nationality was cheering Lance on. He is a great champion!

Trivia question: How many times has the top three in the world championship road race hailed from the same country?

Vers that's a tough question. I'm thinking it would have been quite a while ago if ever, simply because the contemporary pro teams are so international that individuals of the same nation may not be that motivated to work together even in world championships.

And with that long winded hypothesis, I must say, I have no Clue. Once? (as in singularly, not the Spanish team!).

Indeed a tough question, but your guess was right on, dirtsqueezer! Just once did the world championships podium comprise of countrymen. In the inaugural world championships of 1927 Alfredo Binda, Costante Girardengo and Domenico Piemontesi made it one-two-three for Italy.

Woo Hoo, I'm moonwalking in my cube!

My brain hurts after that. I'd better call it a day.

Oooh, good questions Vers. Your hint help greatly.

I'll hold my tongue for a few hours, but it's killing me. My hint, though it may not be much help: The host city was Bogota.

You're close dirtsqueezer, the host country was indeed Colombia, the host city was Duitama.

Abram Olano (hope I got the spelling) Final Answer.

Big Mig took second that year.

Correctamundo. And Pantani finished third. Olano completed the final part of the race on a flat tyre.
Amazingly, he was the first Spanish world champion ever. In 1999 Oscar Freire became the second.

Maybe I am just a sucker for hokiness, but I thought it was neat that the Postal guys all had yellow gloves, socks and rims after Armstrong took the maillot jaune.
If it ain't broke, mess with it anyway!
