Saul's riding at the CA training camp! Hell yeah!!

Saul Raisin's story just keeps getting better and better.

http://www.velonews.com/race/int/articles/11474.0.html

Nothing short of miraculous. Here's to his further rehabilitation and future return to the peloton!

I think that's even bigger than the LA cancer comeback.

Physically, he'll get back to speed, but the psychological battle must be enormous.

"I was joking with (Crédit Agricole manager) Roger Legeay that I want to race at the Tour of California," Raisin said.

I hope he does come, just to sit in the CA booth, sign autographs, sell green wristbands, and soak up good vibes from California racing fans.

+1

Getting all that love from the fans would be good for his morale.

Saul's comeback can be compared to Armstrong's incredible cancer recovery, or with Lemond's incredible gunshot recovery, but only as they relate to medical health.

At this point, that is enough. To project anything further on Saul would demean everything he, his family, friends, and doctors, have accomplished in less than one year.

Just knowing the crash did not change Saul from being a grateful, thoughtful, and courteous rider and human is proof that a positive attitude and a friendly demeanor go a long way in this world.

True, and Lance seemed to change his personality after his cancer (bull-headed neo pro, to a more respectful rider honoring the Euro traditions)... whereas Saul has always been a good natured person.

Medically I would put Saul above Lance but Lance has a better story in general with his single parent childhodd etc. etc.

Back to topic: Glad to hear Saul is doing better, can't wait to see him climbing in the Euro Peloton.

Thats great to hear, he seems like an all around good guy, especially for a talented athlete. I'm looking forward to seeing him tear it up in the coming years

Me too! I keep an eye on his website, Saul is an amazing kid. I'd love to see him in the TOC

His story is very inspiring. I wish him the best possible luck. At the same time, I'm a bit worried he's going to rush it back to racing.

If Saul ends up winning major races, then all 4 (including Saul) American champions would have come back from some form of medical miracle.
- Lemond: Gun Shot Wound
- Lance: *********
- Landis: Hip had the structure of jello
- Saul: Massive brain injury.
