Moron's At Versus?

Why is it that you can't even find a mention of cycle racing on the Versus website except for the Tour de France?

The schedule for the spring classics has been out for a long time and you'd think that Versus would be bright enough to televise them since probably their all time largest audiences have been from cyclists.

It seems kind of shocking to me that a company that has continually screwed the pooch on every advertising front would miss yet again.

Remember last year when they were complaining about the ratings of the Spring Classics coverage when they were switching it all around from time to time so that no one actually knew when the races would be televised?

I have this feeling that the people really running it are named Morty and Ferdy.

I modified the Tour of California schedule a little bit to make it easier to read:
Copying messes up the nice table format, see attached.

you would be very, very wrong.

we are but a very small minority of their viewership. they know it and we, other than you, know it.

Bob Roll said that cycling brings a larger number of people to their network than the NHL games.... That's pretty substantial to a small network who constantly sells themselves as the "Hockey Channel" more or less.

Actually, I think there TDF numbers are up there with NHL hockey. Unfortunately they don't get muchof an auidence for anything other than the TDF.

I haven't even seen any promo's for Tour of California. Cyclism Sundays is a thing of the past. I liked it a whole lot more when they were OLN.

They covered the Tour du Faso in November - that shows either a commitment to cover cycling beyond the Tour or else they wanted proof that no one watches cycling outside the Tour so they can dump it all.

Get real. What would you expect from management who figured it was a good idea to change the name of the channel to 'Versus'.

I mean, does it get any dumber than that?

No.

Reruns of Doctor Who on BBC America get better ratings then cycling on OLN/Vs.

Sadly, the market for reruns of "Shotgun Journal", and "Fishing with Bob Bumblehead" is much higher than the market for any live cycling race.

not sure who are the morons in this situation:

-those who understand viewership & make business (programming) decisions based upon said viewership

or

-those who don't understand & who use apostrophes in pluralization (sorry, just had to!)

They do a staggeringly bad job with hockey. Most hockey fans I know, including myself, dread the nights that our team is on Vs.
