Tyler crushed em, He averaged 52 kmh in the 20.4k ITT to win easily. Do you think LA's worried?

Tyler is certainly having an outstanding year. In eight days he has won two events that establish his entire career. Even if he never wins another race he has become an American cycling legend. Add in his podium spot in the Giro and you certainly have something incredible.

In my eyes, he is on a rung just below Armstrong and LeMond. Right in there with Hampsten.

Is LA worried? I doubt it. If Lance is Lance in the Tour, he will win. If he has a crappy day or two in the mountains there are several riders that are threats, Tyler included.

I'm just wondering though...is Tyler too good too soon for a great ride in July?
As an athlete I have tried the peak-recover-peak sequence and have always found it to be very dificult to manage.

Unless Tyler cuts back some I think he may be shot for the tour. But then again that may be his plan. Why go for one that may be unattainable when you can get a lot of others. I have a feeling he may be looking at the Giro. After last years podium finish even when he was injured I have no doubt that healthy he can take it all. It would not suprise me if he does'nt go for a Giro/ Vuelta double. He's peaking at just the right time for the Giro.

    Sick em Tyler.

Le Tour Fantasy... Tyler first, Lance second, Botero third. Of course if Lance and Tyler swapped 1 and 2 it would be ok also.

You can't blame him, look at all the accidents he had in the giro last year.

WTG, tyler! I was rooting for Alex Zulle, but he lost a lot of time over the last couple of stages. However, he finished second in today's TT. It's his last Romandie so I was hoping he'd pull it off. He's never won!

No Giro for Tyler this year. He is planning to cut back his racing and give it a go in July.

Congrats to Tyler I agree about thinking he may be starting to peak a little early, but then again thats why he's a pro and I'm not. Dream tour: 1. Lance 2. Tyler 3. Levi I'm not a redneck American, I just thought that this would help American cycling get the recognition it deserves.

Outstanding performance at the TT ! How many seconds ? More than 50 ? You don´t see that every day.

If CSC can field a strong enough team I believe that
Tyler could challenge Lance. USPS's Blue Train may
not be nearly as strong as last year with both Hincappie
and Landis out a good portion of this season.
I'm looking forward to a hotly contested TdF this year.

My very first thought was, like Easyrider's, "Too soon!" It seems a little far in advance to be performing at such a high level. Let's just hope he can pace himself properly for the next couple of months. I'm sure after the tough year he had last year it feels good to be on right now.

I understood that CSC skipping the Giro was Riis' idea, not Tyler's. Riis wants a podium finish in the TDF; the Giro just doesn't do it for him. That's what he recruited Tyler for, not the Giro.
If it ain't broke, mess with it anyway!

If you want to do the tour, the giro is not a race to do in order to warm up for it ,that's for sure. Although, some of them seem to do well at both, like Frigo, and simoni will probably do the tour this year. Frigo's opted out of the tour, apparently, probably to focus on the giro. Still, if simoni, casagrande and Garzelli do the tour, along with ullrich, we hope, and tyler, the tour will be a lot more fun than it was last year. Even if Ullrich isn't quite at his best. Armstrong needs someone to torture him in the mountains to keep things interesting!

    Slightly off topic prediction:

Armstrong wins by his largest margin in a Tour de France.

This years´ TDF will be interesting, it seems like Armstrong got some new challengers. Ullrich might be one of them, but I don´t think he can really contend with Armstrong.

By the way, no spoilers in the headlines, please. Think of our Australian friends.
