Shamal ultra
I'm looking for an all around aluminium clincher race wheelset. Anyone owns Shamal Ultra's?
How do they compare to Ksyrium ES or SL and others? I'm 6'1 , 172 lbs. Thanks

Lighter, more aerodynamic, it's gold, what more do you want? For a lower price, maybe a pair of rolf's, even more aerodynamic. Within a similar weight is the easton tempest ii or ascent ii, cheaper, same weight.
But it's not gold, what does your bike look like?

Well it's lighter and it looks like they're 28-30mm deep.
In tests that Tour magazine did, the ksyrium ES's ended up dead last in aerodynamics and behind their own budget Aksium race wheel in stiffness.

The new shamal's have very little to do with the originals but you can find out a wheel in the test with similar characteristics and compare that to the mavics.

if you want aero go all the way and get 404s or some deep reynolds wheels or don't bother.
