This advice is worth exactly what it cost you, but consider leveling the seat out, and even tilting it back a degree or two. It seems counterintuitive, but this will force you further back onto the flare of the seat, and your seat bones, and keep you from sliding forward and smashing parts better left unsmashed.

Point two would be to level the bars out so the bottom section is parallel to the ground. You wouldn't be giving anything up in drop usability, and you'd gain the Jens Voight style arms on the tops, hands on the hoods aero position.

Get a fit. If you're in the drops that much, you want to be more forward, not backward. You're going way slower than you could be.

It looks more silly with someone on it, I'm sure. No one can ride anywhere near well with that kind of a hip angle.

I think a shot with you pedaling on the bike is what they seek. From what I understand, you really ought to be on a trainer and pedaling for the photo because a "posing position" is drastically different from a "working position"

Doesn't look like you can flip that stem. If he rides on the drops so much, he should just get rid of most of the spacers and ride on the tops and hoods more.

Assuming the frame is the correct size for you then yes. Taking a wild guess but something tells me that bike may be too small for you so thats why its setup that way. Would get rid of at least half those spacers as well.

This is my new race rig, a Fondriest Status. Steel is real! Soon I will get some ksyriums for race wheels, but for now it's ultegra from head to toe, including the wheels.

I think there are better raceday options than Ksyriums, especially given that you're fairly light. I'd look at the Reynolds Solitude or a set of hand built tubies, maybe something like Velocity Escapes/DT240s/Sapim CX-Rays.

Also...the pic isn't playing ball.

Hi,

My Look on page 2 is now my training bike as I said it would be.

Not that you haven't seen it before, but I don't know if I've posted it with the new fork (which now clears my Zipp hubs nicely) and new tires:

I've got one race (79 miles) and a few training rides on it for a total of 263 miles. So far so good.

Oh wait, now I remember, I did post this somewhere and botto didn't like the red tape. I don't really like it either but it stays until it wears out.
