I test rode one of those today just for kicks and it was pretty nice man. Sweet bike for sure and it's cool that you actually ride it and get it dirty. I've never seen one that dirty before in the wild, most of them are super clean and tidy haha .
I guess personally I would just be so nervous about wrecking it cause its a lot of dough for me, but its all relative. People riding $900 bikes probably feel the same way about my bike.

i didn't ride the MTB too much last year--half of my rides were races. handling really suffers!
is that just inside info from the breakaway crew re: bend 2015? i'm sorta psyched to hear it, but sorta not just based on timing. i love any excuse to come to bend and have been lamenting the fact that i'll only get out to oregon once to race this summer (with hood gone and nationals in SLC).
bend's a great venue for marathon nationals -- but usually nationals are around july 4th and the NUE event and cascade are just a couple weeks after. i probably couldn't make 2 trips out separated by one weekend.
come to sun valley this july!

Still lamenting the loss of Hood.

Specialized is amazing with supporting amature racing. I'm not currently riding for a Specialized team, but I had to pick this one up (2012 model the shop wanted to get rid of). Great deal.
So far changed out the bars to Zipp 42cm al. Might change out the tires, saddle, and add a longer stem. Slapped on the SRM I won at a holiday party. Green PC7, of course as I like to think I'm a sprinter. A HUGE THANK YOU TO SRM. Fantastic product. Ya'll should go buy one.
Does anyone know of Tarmac SL4s having difficulty with clearance from 25s tires? I'd like to avoid rubbing the clear coat off.
Picture from the maiden voyage today. The thing descends like a bat out of hell, corners on rails, its stiff, I love it.

Not a definitive answer, but I'm running 28s on my 2012 Allez, which uses the same fork as some of the Tarmacs. Plenty of room. You should be good to go, especially since Specialized is now offering their top end race tire in 700x26.

I wouldn't worry about the fork, but if it's like an SL3, there's not much room near the chainstay/bottom bracket. I'd imagine you'd be fine with 25s and would need to check the specific tires with 28s, but that's a swag.

Nice! I've done Roubaix type races on my SL4 and had zero issues with 25c tires.

Well, Trek advises the opposite (or used to). I believe the recommend one above and one below the stem so the clamping stresses are not directly adjacent to the end (unsupported surface area) or the headset top bearing (structural stress point).

The North America location is actually in Colorado Springs a few miles away from my house. They had a Christmas/holiday open to the public party for marketing purposes. There was a 30 second power ergometer fun competition in street clothes, I was able to squeak out the men's win. Prize was a power system package.
Who woulda thought, all that time at the track paid off

no problem with tires that measure 28.5 on mine -- at that size it is more a question of clearance at the brake arch. you should be completely in the clear with 25s. in my experience some sram calipers have less clearance than others.
enjoy it…and the SRM!

I was told to always run one above on carbon steerer tubes, my stem sits on the headsets bearings (ala pro style) so there is nothing below.
