Slammed stems yada yada yada.
Drops are in the same spot as with the old bars (but a touch less reach). Tops and hoods are 3 cm lower than before. I really like the Compact bars so I dished out the money to get the stem. Longest ride so far was 2:15 or so and after the first hour of working out the stiff back from a 2 hour night of sleep (Junior was not feeling great) I was in the drops most of the time after.
The day after my "long" ride I did a few cross-tailwind sprints. Felt super stable, could go over bumps etc no problems (meaning the front wheel would get a touch of air over bumps or dips but it'd land totally planted). Now for a couple months of trainer rides before racing it in March.
This was a couple weeks ago in Florida. I just painted the stem black so it'll look a bit less inconspicuous.
*edit my pump no longer fits between my front skewer and bars so I had to mount it over my top tube. I usually scrape it off the bike with my legs so I wanted to avoid that spot. I'm thinking of putting it between the rear skewer and the seat post or maybe the left seat stay and post.

I burned my chin when in a tuck back in the day Hit some wavy pavement at speed, bike started doing that bucking thing, slammed my chin into the tire. I was really glad I didn't have my tongue sticking out, my teeth met really hard.
I did have to skip using the Scott Rakes. My thumbs would jam between the bars and tire on the trainer. The Cane Creeks worked okay and I used them for a couple years. If I'm strong again I'll put them back on.
Keep in mind the drops are in the same position. That was my goal, to use Compacts but not lose 3 cm of drop that the Compacts lose. I want to get away from my circa-1995 bars. I'm running out, they aren't great for Ergo levers, and they're super flexible compared to the modern bars. However they have tons more reach and drop than a Compact.

Making a kilometer blurry
Left stay and seat tube worked great for me until I started using the RoadMorph.

I'd say short legs more than long torso, but yes, both. It's a frame modeled after a size S TCR (40 cm c-to-top-of-top-tube, compact style), 56.5 eff TT, 39 cm chainstay, 75.5 deg ST.
Stem is a 14.5 -32. I was using a -20 14 cm Deda Pista which was 1 cm short and 3 cm too tall for a Compact (but worked with Energy FSA bars which had a terrible drop shape).

psh, amateurs.
I dare anyone to find a stem that is more slammed than this one. 7 cm HT height, barely 10 cm from bottom of stem to the top of wheel. Space was so tight i had to get a lower profile brake (Tri Rig Omega) as a 7800 brake won't fit

WARNING! Do not permanently place stem spacers above the stem. Placing spacers above the stem defeats the purpose of the expander plug's ability to support the steerer tube and stem.

Making a kilometer blurry
Stems, schmems. I'm low enough that I'm dropping teammates who are supposed to be drafting me when I pedal down a straight hill. Last week, EDR was pushing 450W to stay on my wheel down a hill when I was only pushing 350W.

Now here is my question, do you develop power in that position?

requires a god-awful cable routing and the caliper (side-pull) will catch more wind, but it should work (unless there is some frame-size issue with yours). that's what was 'stock' on the di2 plasma, i believe. you can see photos of HTC guys running it, among others.

the PRO bars do look sweet, and i best i'll be cursing when i need to adjust them. On a side note, the spacers and arm rests just got shipped out. So a four week delay, but i'm still waiting for parts (nokon cables) right now, so it's moot.
At least initially, i'll be running the shifter cables external in order to make adjustments easier, and then route them internally when i have an idea what sort of position i'm after
Notice how i'm cunning in my post (mentioned stem only) with words just like you (i learn from the best ). I think CDR's drop may end up being lower.
Serious answer is that there will probably be a large stack (60mm worth) of spacers between the bar and armrest.
My road bike is actually no longer slammed as i went from -17 and no spacer to -6 and two spacers. My back is thanking me for the move, and i can develop power in my drops. For the first time, the drops actually felt natural onmy current road bike

unless he included the saddle, the stack isn't too meaningful. he could just be riding a frame that is seven sizes too big! ;-)
(j/k echapp)
the PRO setup is great as you can fine tune the extension height independent of pad height.
and DEFINITELY run the cables external for a while. huge PITA to route them internally if you are making frequent changes. you can still ride it on the trainer that way pretty easily and ride it w/o brakes while you start to dial things in.
been riding my shiv on the rollers (in the extensions). that is new for me. just started being able to ride no-hands on the rollers on the road bike. something clicked.

I still can't ride on the road with no hands...
