I think so. Gosh, to start racing at that age. I think (could be wrong) his parents are well off too. He's coached, has very supportive parents, on a good team, skinny, bright, etc.
He's like my polar opposite. http://wronaracing.blogspot.com/2010...f-hill-rr.html Him right? Took 13th in a P/1/2/3 race on the 14th of Feb. |

By the way, I know the kid. He's moved up to Cat3 real quick. Tiny fella but knows how to mix it up with us big guys.
I've lined up with him a couple of times. He races smart too. |

But hey, at least I wasn't last. |
I'm sick and we started 1 man down. Bissel put 1:02 on second place. almost 32mph avg.

I used to think this way also but after being in the situation I find that I will goose the throttle when i hear a crash behind because Im worried about having my wheels swept out from under me...also its racing and people stuck behind, sucks to be you. (its been me plenty :snelling:) good motivation to be at the pointy end |

You aren't supposed to stop racing just because there is a crash. You also can't tell cause or effect from the picture, often times the crash comes during pace changes, i.e. an attack after a lull.

True, but it sure looks like using a crash to launch an attack, which isn't cool.

The crash happened on the sprint finish. We were about 200m to go when it happened. The guys on the front are sprinting for the win. The guy in the air hit the first rider that crashed going 30-35 mph. I was able to lay on the brakes an slowed to 15 or so before I hit. I heard later that the first guy to crash just stood up to sprint and crashed for no reason. He is a known squirrely rider that everybody tries to avoid. I guess he was uninjured but his frame was broken in half. The guy upside down in the air dislocated his shoulder and broke two fingers.

Here is a bigger picture. There was supposed to be a yellow line rule in effect.

And obviously, if you are 200m from the finish anyway and in winning position... might as well jam it to the line before turning around to see what happened. |
