Heh. I attacked solo with something like 10 laps to go. The guy in green bridged up with 5 or 6 to go. By the bell lap, my synapses were working so slowly, it took me the whole lap to even start processing the sprint. We basically ended up finishing in the order of our rotation.

here's another link, so I'm not stealing. This is my "wtf? I thought this was a flat-ish race, why does the road pitch up to 10% there?" face

At the start of the Mad River Road Race at GMSR, courtesy of the very nice woman who owned the B&B we stayed at. I'm in blue and yellow.

Ouch, heal fast. Not trying to be a jerk, but you should really get that kid to wear her helmet at the right angle. It won't protect her properly the way she's got it on there.

No, you're right. I noticed that too. It's a struggle to keep it on her head properly, especially if she's got a ponytail. However, unlike her dad, she managed to finish her race upright.
And yeah, you'd think that the M123 race would be the safest race of the day. I think there were 8 laps to go and I was hanging on for dear life at the end of the line. According to my buddy, about half the field had been dropped by this point and I just wanted to finish. Coming into the home turn, a guy two or three spots ahead of me grabbed a bunch of brake, which caused the guy in front of me to fishtail and he whipped his wheel right into my front wheel. I remember flying briefly and seeing my bike bounce.
No real damage other than road rash and bruising. And the bike is okay. The rear wheel is out of true, but everything seems to be okay otherwise.
What sucks is that I had a bunch of friends from the City who came to see me race and I couldn't even finish.

Sorry to hear that, but glad all is ok. Seems like a strange place to brake since they usually hammer down the homestretch.

This is me in the 90km "Lotto Geants des Ardennes" an incredible ride but one section of 2km at 18% was intense!

From Track Nationals-
On our way to a gold medal and a jersey in the Team Sprint (silver helmet)
Not suffering on the podium
Trying to force my way off the line with the wheel cocked in the 2k
In the last 500m on the restart
Cross the line for a silver, nothing left in the tank
Pulling the train to a bronze in the Team Pursuit
(note the knee out trying to correct for a nasty gust of wind)
