ilpirata still has the 'stache, never fear. Everybody gives him hell about it, but he doesn't seem to care.

It's much better now that he's riding. Before, he wouldn't let me sleep in much on the weekend. He'd always come bug me because he was bored. Ahhh, sweet dreams to me. Now, when he gets back after a ride, he wakes me up at a more reasonable noon, then we go biking out to brunch together, and around the area.

My first Cat4 race. Gwinnett Bike Fest RR. I wasn't in much pain here, but I was still getting warmed up and thinking, "man, this sucks".

EDIT: I'm in the Red and White kit with the blue helmet and blue rear tire closest to the camera.

Couldn't find original, but gives the idea. First race in three weeks coming off a broken wrist, also first Cat 3/4 race.

I think the finish line was _just_ in the right place for that one. 100 meters more and the cash would have been in someone elses pocket.

Great job though. Good suffering!

On my way to a cat3 podium until - SURPRISE! - the real suffering started about 300 yards from the line when a random DB took two of us out during the sprint. I hit the first guy who fell right in front of me and went over the bars at 38mph. Result: The obligatory road rash, thrashed jersey, shoes, helmet, and some awesome broken ribs.

scratchy looking video of me not winning. kind of cool in a narcisistic way to see my "jump" (at about 6" - 7" in) and drive straight up the middle for 2nd place by about half a wheel. I think I actually overtook 1st when i jumped, unfortunately, I couldnt accelerate any faster and he kept on throwing down big Ws. I'm all jump, no sprint.
