unfortunately i'm not going to be able to make it this year, i'd miss to many classes and i've got midterms and papers due the following week. I've heard that it's an awesome course with a sweet climb at the end...

Don’t confuse that cringe for a smile. This is my first race, 34 degrees, 30 mph winds, and intermittent hailstorms throughout the 48-mile race. I’m sprinting away from the group I was riding with at the finish in order to finish a glorious 47th out of 75: 10 DNF

And you're right about the final climb, 3 miles and 1200 feet make it pretty selective (especially considering there's a flat spot in the middle), in my biased opinion I think it's one of the best road race courses in the conference .

That's too bad that you can't make it, but classes can come back and bit you.

For all you that weren't there - seriously, no kidding, none of this is an exaggeration in the slightest

The winning break.
Within the next 10-20 minutes of this picture it would be me and the tall guy in orange until the end (roughly an hour). We'll call this pre-suffer. Though, the saddle adjustment the night before was a bad idea so that doubled the suffrage (lower this week).
Don't get me started on the number. By far the biggest numbers i've ever had to deal with. There was no pinning this thing down.

Genetics have failed me
Your saddle to bar drop is amazing me. Either you're extremely flexible or i'm just too old for this sport.

1: I'm flexible enough to put my palms on the ground with no knee bend.
2: I raised the saddle about 1-1.5cm the night before--it was too high. I'm convinced my left leg is shorter than my right.

Trying to get as aero as possible while suffering horribly. You can't tell from the photos, but we're going about 40 mph down this hill.
I look a little more composed here, but rest assured, I am hurting. Bad.
And no, your eyes are not fooling you. I really am that small.

I'm up front. 40 degrees and rain. 2 man break. My feet are soaked. Wasn't really happy again until the drive-through at Mcdonalds on the way home.

Just starting a successful bridge to a break that failed.
Trying to latch onto a chase group to the winning break. Succeeded. Chase failed.
