I love this photo, it's got all the ingredients:
Pain Face
Front Wheel Slippage
Drool stuck to the side of my face
In my defense, I was OTF, not OTB. My 2 breakmates are in front of me just out of the frame, and I'm trying desperately to not get dropped by them. This is the top of the 45 sec power hill, and I caught up to them shortly afterward.
For the record: this photo was purchased for my use.

Apparently, I took them off and jammed them back on to clear some debris. I have another pic that was sent from another photog showing the left side arm outside of the strap. So, even WORSE, I had one in and one out as I crossed the finish line. I'm surprised WSBA didn't make me turn in my numbers. </shrug>

Had some pics taken during a tradition TT each exam week for the team, going up a short but extremely steep climb (18% average, peaks at 33%) on campus. Got 3rd, averaging 609w (9.6w/kg) for 1 minute 4 seconds.

Wish I had an answer to that! Keep in mind my best 1min before this was 490w, so having this steep of a climb and a race environment helped.
Just my first year racing, still learning a lot of strategy to go along with decent Cat 4 power. Only had 2 RRs this season local, one finished in a pack finish and the other one I didn't go to. Didn't have a single breakaway stick in any of the crits and my 885w 5s power doesn't win me any sprints. Learned a lot though, hope with some more analysis of the power data and the experience gained from this year, I can do pretty good next year.

Not a road race but the mountain forum doesn't get much love. Idyllwild Stage Race. Mountain bike racing is hard.
And a video is anyone is interested.

Cool photo Brian. How did the race end up for you overall? Was the condition of the hill such that it took something away from the race? I have heard stories in year's past about the hill, and it seemed this year the Kopp was the anti-Mead Roubaix (i.e. - tame in comparison to previous years)
