let me know when there are no road rash pics (or at least just a link and a warning) so I can come back to this thread.

Agreed. Great course, great vibe, nice little downtown. I liked it a lot more than City Park.

Rocky Mountain Road Club City Park Criterium

One of the older races in Colorado, and also a technical course, which leads to more crashes than usual. This course is also used for the Denver University Criterium held in March, so I had already raced this course earlier in the year. This was the SM4 race, and for some reason, I thought I would be able to attack, and build up some space from the group early in the race.

I ended up at the front way too much. Even after crashing, I got back on, and my ego said" "C'mon Brad - you can attack and make this stick". Jesus - my legs and my ego need to meet and get their "sh*t" together. At the very least, I wanted the pace fast enough initially to weed out the field. However, I am not sure if I accomplished anything except spending all of my matches too early in the race.

Pulling after having already crashed

You can see the ripped bib-shorts better in this photo. The upper scar is from my first race on this course.

Miwoodar - awesome job. Just amazing racing this season on your part. You raced a solid race at City Park this past Sunday as well.

Thanks Brad. The dice have definitely rolled in my favor a few times recently. I'm watching your results - just a matter of time.

Did Rob put you up to keeping a Psimet kit at the front? I hauled the chase around a number of times myself trying to bring back a break at City Park - never got them.

There were a lot of crashes at City Park. I went down there as well when a guy clipped a pedal and slid under my wheel in the left hook just after the first round-a-bout. The lap before it happened I said 'I will never get stuck on the inside line of that turn again'. Then on the next lap the guy that got stuck took me out.

The SM3 race was kind of a strange race, as the field was so small, and there were no teams large enough to really put together a solid, committed effort towards chasing down the break. That indecision allowed enough separation between the pack and the break, that it kind of become too late to mount any attack to bridge the gap. I know my teammate Troy was a little disappointed, but satisfied at least with the effort he gave, as that course is made for guys like him (pure sprinter type).

I was nearly the 4th man in the break. I was bridging across as it was forming but didn't get there before they organized and slipped away. It came together soon after I had redlined for another move.

Troy strikes me as a good guy. I met him late last summer when he was a BKB.

Here's a shot of me doing a gravity check. I was not suffering. The adrenaline masked the pain ofskinning my other arm and other hip.

The visible suffer shot coming into the line. I tried a homemade visor and new helmet for the first time and it fogged up in the first couple minutes. I had to almost stop to rip it off, kind of breaks the flow and concentration after that
