This is right when the break happened. I had to race, as the only woman, with the Cat 2/3/4 Masters men (because of an organizational mess). I was initially going to stay with them, but was really really worried about blowing up and then not finishing, so I sat up almost immediately after this picture was taken (partly because the other two in the race weren't bridging with me). The entire race was a sufferfest for me, since I was riding over threshold almost the entire time. I got 5th (of 6).

I think this is the best photo I've seen from Battenkill. Neither of these guys is me, but I think one of them is suffering, or at least his ego is.

wonder what usa cycling's stance is on gender reassignment surgery. could someone become a lady but still have manly features but race as a woman and dominate?

just wondering. don't get all sensitive people it's a brave new world and it's gonna be ok.

someone ask what picture Mikey is referring to. I want to believe it's mine, but I fear it's the one above.

OK, thanks. Because I really like it as I've come a long ways in my crit riding/cornering. I was coming out of those corners with gaps more often than not.

It's easier to pick good lines when you are on the front, but that doesn't takeaway anything from that excellent shot.

After four Battenkills, I have finally managed to complete one entirely unphotographed. There are a thousand photos of groups I am in but I'm just a bit of helmet or an elbow.

Pull that in a pro race and you'll get punted to the curb.

there was a corner turning from a headwind into a crosswind. I felt pretty good as I was able to consistently turn it tighter than the pack line, coming out on the wind protected side and gaining 3-4-5 bikes for free each time. Anyway, that's unrelated to that one picture, but it's why I liked that particular one.
