u think? (not a disagreement). I haven't raced Poolesville since 2012, but i'd rank Coppi up there. The road surface in poolesville is pretty bad all around. The gravel is a fun section though! Also Coppi has food tents and served me nutella sandwiches post race last year hah!

We have both. The KASK is a fragile helmet, but certainly effective especially if drinking.
This is 200m before the finish where time will be taken from the 3rd rider. What you see is Daniel applying air brakes
For Daniel...
For a longer TT - 40K there aren't any.
For shorter he does better with pointy things as he keeps his head up the whole time - other than the sprint (this pic).

The reason given for short tail helmets is that riders move their heads to look back - or drink.
As so many junior races are short (<12K in most Euro Stages) and 20K elsewhere, the helmet selection can be based on how much drinking and head turning there may be.
The Specialized pointy thing is better ventilated.

Me and a couple of former champs (collegiate, CX). I need to get better about looking up the road with my eyes, not my head.

This past Sunday was the Morgul Bismarck RR, featured in American Flyers and battleground of the old Coors Classic between Lemond and Hinault. Photo is top of "The Wall", only 1 gel left so must be late in the race. And after being in an early break and a break in the Morgul circuit race the day before I was pretty much burnt cheese at this point. Photo credit to Ryan Muncy.

3.8 mile TT, this is before the pain of such a short TT set in. Right at the start, screwed up a "workout" that I set up..meant to have it beep if I was under 310 watts, but instead it ended when I hit 310 watts, which was basically as soon as I started so I got to hit start again on my computer.

I WISH I was on my Pugsley last week! The gravel was so soft & deep, the 28c tires were killing me. Guys on the fatbikes would fly by on any down hill, but I'd take it all back on the climbs.

I saw a guy line up on a fat bike at Battenkill. The announcer was basically aghast. I am pretty sure he finished (at least, my buddy got a photo of him on the finishing hill).

I'd say it's important to remember this is a Minnesota race, Minnesota is the home of Surly, Salsa, Framed and some custom fatbike manufactures. Surly introduced the first mass produced fatbike - Pugsley. Last I saw, Minnesota is the number one state for fatbikes, by a big number. Therefore, it's not surprising to see a lot of fatbikes on this race.
