For the racers out there, how tall are you/how much do you weigh?

I was just curious if the guys that race crits in here are the 200 pound tree truck variety, or the 130 stick figure men type. Where I live, all the crits are relatively flat so it works really well for the huge sprinters. Not so much for me since Im apart of the latter, stick figure, body type. I am 5'6" at 142 lbs. I am going to start racing for the first time this summer, but I'm pretty sure I'm just gonna get crushed since I'm not much of a sprinter. Perhaps I'll do some road races as well. Cheers.

189cm, 81kg at the moment. Should be 77-78kg during race season...maybe lighter, we'll see what happens.

Hence the tagline...I'm 20kg, 2 knees and 100 watts short of Euro-Pros

6'2" and 160

You can win crits as a small guy -- look at McEwen. It's whether or not you have the fast-twitch muscle fibre that really counts. If you don't, then attack, attack, attack. And follow any jump that looks good.

6' 165lbs. And don't think you won't do well in crits until you do a few. You may be surprised.

6' 165lbs. I could weigh 155 without looking freakishly skinny--but I can't train very hard under caloric deficit and I'm addicted to food.

Ahh, a fellow chicagoan I see. You ride today? That wind was nasty along lake shore =). I actually plan on joining the xXx team. I'm gonna go to the meeting this wednesday I think. See how it goes. Other than that, I'm probably gonna try to hit up the tuesday series crits in Matteson that the south chicago wheelmen put on. Actually I think I remember you posting in the thread about chicago bike teams a while back. Thats where I found out about the xXx crew.

And yes, McEwen is an effin badass. God bless is 5'6 soul.
