Hilly. Lots of wind. Breaks usually fail.

I'll be there. I signed up yesterday online. I'll be doing same race as you.

The terrain is beautiful. I have trained on those same roads several years back. Lots of rollers which you will find challenging at race speed....not so much the early ones, but they just keep coming and start wearing ya down a little. Nothing awfully steep though. I hope the weather is good. There will be a nice festival in the town near the finish after the race.

Would love to see some of the other guys on this board make the trip for this race. You can get down here from DC/Northern Va in about 5 hours I think? would be worth the trip!! The last time I was out there, several years back, there were guys from all over in the Master's races....even Kent Bostick showed up and won the Pro race.

This is my first race of the year, so I'm just hoping to hang in with the group and get to the finish in tact. But anyway, I'll be on a Trek 1500(Discovery Blue/grey paint) .... and probably wearing a bright yellow jersey(no team logo as I'm an unattached rider). Be sure to say hello. I think a few other guys on this forum are also gonna be there.

Again, the course is beautiful. One of my favorite road races ever.

So sit in the first 50 miles and do work the last 5 to sit pretty. Done, game plan set.

I might go down for the race. I like how it ends in the street fair. I did it about 3 years ago soloed off the front and got caught with about 1k to go. The one thing I remember about it was that it was hot as hell. There is not a whole lot of elevation change but one of the little rollers is challenging at race pace.

It sounds awesome. I will not be there, unfortunately, but am planning on it for next year.

This used to be held same day as Athens Twilight Crit. I can remember some of the pro guys leaving right after the race so they could get to Athens, GA for the crit that night.

I'll probably do this, but I haven't signed up yet. Any of you guys doing the Meadowmont crit the following day? One of our guys won the 3 race last year.

BTW, I *just* got back from four days of riding in Georgia. Spectated on the Wall on Brasstown Bald on Friday- that was a lot of fun. We did Six Gaps and threw Brasstown in as a bonus on yesterday's ride- 87 miles with just under 12,000 feet of climbing. The other days were shorter, but all of them were fun in one way or another. It was a great trip!

Psyched. Bike is ready. I *think* I'm ready. Tapered/carb loaded. Bottles in the freezer, gels and bananas on the counter.

Weather in the mid 60s and winds at 10-13mph for the race.

Good luck, guys! With my Georgia trip a few days ago and a hard training week up to yesterday, I decided to skip TdM so I could taper today and tomorrow for Meadowmont, which is more important to me anyway since it's my home race.
