Gotta go to bed
I did 30 miles today....5 trips around a 6 mile loop. All miles were solo and the wind beat me up pretty good. On several occasions I looked down at my computer to see I was moving at 13MPH. I was facing that stiff headwind for half the loop, while having a good tailwind the other half. I wanted to go around that loop one more time for 36 miles ... but I just couldn't take the wind any more. My average speed was a pathetic 16MPH. So now I gotta go to bed. I feel like I've been 12 rounds with Mike Tyson, and my knees are very sore. Looking forward to the next few days and better weather.
How's your training going this week?

DreamTheater like the band?
They suck.
My training is looking up. I rode the 12.5 mile TT course yesterday with an oversized wind jacket, no aero bars, no aero helmet, and training wheels. Threw down a 33:46 in 35 degree temps.

Do you like to TT?
You're Slow
I'm not really a fan but their bass player (John Myung) is pretty amazing.

I hate TT'ing. One thing to consider is that I have another 2-3 months before I am put to the test.
Also, this is the course:

two weeks ago I did a ride 18 miles north on the lakefront in Chi...dang wind made me feel very sissy like, almost Poisonesque--or listening to the Cubs loose bad. But the 18 mile ride back south was fast and fun...more "Iron Maden" like.

I've ridden twice this week, which makes twice for the past 18 days. I'm pretty tipsy right now, and tomorrow I get to do a pre race ride for the battenkill roubaix. overall i'd say my training is spectacular

Throw the stick!!!!
This week I have been concentrating on the mountain bike since my first mtb race of the season is Sunday. Sunday I pre-rode the course, my riding was terrible. It took me 2:10 to ride a 17 mile course. I went out Monday and rode the mountain bike about 21 miles and worked on my handling and chasing a faster rider around, did much better. Tuesday I went back and pre-rode the course again. My time was 1:34, much better! That was four minutes faster than my best time last year.
Yesterday I was on the trainer. I had to do 3x20 minutes hr zone 3 (150 - 155 bpm) with five minute recoveries. I was actually pretty happy with the outcome. First interval - 278 watt average, second interval 290 watt average, third interval 274 watt average.
Today is a rest day. Tomorrow I'll get on the trainer for about an hour and do 4x90 seconds at cp30 (297 watts) and do the rest at about 175 watts to prepare for Sunday's race.
