New (to me) PowerTap
So I won and just received a 2006 Powertap Pro (Yellow hub)from ebay. I am really excited to start using power to train. The main reason I went with the Pro over the Standard model is that I can use my race wheels with a magnet during races and still use the PT head unit/cable as a normal computer. I am trying to test this out but I am not getting any reading on the head unit when I have my non-PT wheel installed. Can anyone offer me any help? Thanks.

click through until cadence is showing on the lower screen. then hold the select button until "watts" disappears. now you are in non-PThub mode.

I'd call the customer service number from the web page. They're pretty helpful.
My question to you, is have you considered racing with the PT.There's a slight weight penalty. But racing will be your best data.
I go back and forth on this myself, and end up using lighter wheels mostly just on very hilly courses.
