Races near central Virginia

Hey all,
I'm still pretty new to Charlottesville. With the Jefferson Cup and Wintergreen done already, are there any other races nearby? I've not raced USCF before, but have a season of collegiate behind me. I suck at crits (got dropped on all but the last one), but ought to try to improve because there are so many lined up for next years collegiate season.

Any sites I ought to check out?
Thanks!

There's some stuff around Richmond and the DC area over the summer. Possible day trips.

Keep an eye on Bikereg. There's some Charlottesville racing club I think that you could try to contact.

You're pretty much in between districts - 2-3 hours from N. VA/DC/MD and and Norfolk area where majority of the races happen in VA. Richmond has several races coming up too. But come cross season you'll be in the thick of it in C-ville.

Yeah, I looked up Bike reg and found rather meagre pickings. Looks like there are some races near Raleigh; that drive is far prettier than the one to DC and Maryland
Cross season should be fun! I'll be tuning my commuter bike for some cross action; Suntour CX Pro ahoy

There is a lull in the VA race schedule this time of year. There is the crit this weekend in Newport News which should be fun course around the city center but with a smaller field (because alot of us dad's don't risk the ramifications of racing on mom's day). Drive down to Fayetteville, NC for the Dragon Series over Memorial day weekend (TT, crit, RR).

I have heard good things about the "Go Fast, Turn Left!" races in Richmond.

Most of the VA racing seems to happen either towards DC or towards Hampton Roads.

I think there's going to be a race in Blacksburg, VA in mid-July. Keep an eye out for that.
