I don't know... I think they might find some DNA on those Zipps of yours considering how much you keep raving about them...

My daughter HAS a unicycle. I keep brusing my knees on it in. She gets on it about 2x annually, never really rides it, and it goes back in the garage next to my $5000+ racing bicycles. When I'm showing off my bike schwag to some friend or neighbor it's humiliating. I always have to explain the $59 unicycle hanging next to the $1900 Zipps. Everybody assumes it's part of my insane cycling obsession. They are...

Actually, if you quit actually cycling, you'd have more time to post. So don't quit.

Man, those Zipps must really suck if you're ready to quit already.

The Zipps are fine. It is Pcad that sucks.
'Ready to quit already'? By 'already' do you imply that 20 years of daily cycling (minus a 5 year hiatus for back injuries) is a short tenure in this stupid sport?
The only thing that keeps me going is my addiction to endorphins and this entertaining place. I am impervious to flaming, every square cm of flesh having been roasted to a crisp here over the past two years by the likes of Euro and Doc Ray.

Calling me a 'racer' is like calling the Chicago Cubs a 'professional baseball team' or saying that poker is a 'sport'.

One reason I keep racing is to avoid admitting how stupid it was to buy a $5000 bike, a $1500 powertap, and several sets of $1000 plus wheels, which would have no use if I quit.

you're having a great time in here and I have to speak for the feminine gender here and look out for your wife a bit, let's just say that if you dont have cycling to put all this energie in, you might drive her a little crazy.
so why quit?

You don't really think I'd quit do you?
Things are slow today on Mt. Cad. I had to do SOMETHING. My ride was over by 10AM.
And blonduathlongrl is correct, I would drive my wife insane if I didn't ride my bike. And of course I do need to give other BF members a pinata to point at and say 'see, I'm better than HIM'.
Which does leave me wondering about the 11 (45+) dudes who were actually slower than me at the High Point TT. As a matter of fact half the Cat 5's were slower than me. Much like there is always somebody faster, there's always somebody slower. The fishes come in all sizes my little weenies.
Who cares about all this. The Mets are beating the Yankees. Again. And by the end of the day the Mets will be 3+ games up on the Braves and the Yanks will be 11+ games down to the mighty Red Sox. AND the hockey season will be one day closer to being over.
It's a good day to be a bike weenie Mets fan. Thank God there's no doping in pro baseball, eh?

Neither of those things will happen in 2007. $25+ million for The Rocket to be the Yankee Savior this year is an even bigger waste of money than Pcad procuring Zipp 404's.
But not much bigger.
