Racing with stiches
Anyone raced with stiches?
I got stiches on the knee yesterday. There is a race this saturday I want to do. Doc said I should't bend my knee for 2 weeks until the skin heals.
What's your opinion?

If you don't let it heal, be prepared for a big ugly scar from all the tension, or for the wound to break open again.
There actually is a reason we say stuff like that.

I crashed in a race, not my fault, and raked my leg, just above my knee, on the chainring of the guy that crashed in front of me. 20 stitches, about 4 of them done like a "hockey player" (no novacaine), the ER MD was pissed off she had to work on a nice slow Sunday, but I digress.
First couple of days I couldn't bend my knee, but slowly I got mobility back. Was riding by wednesday, I won a race tht next Sunday.
This was just an excuse to brag a bit, so follow your MD's advice.

I might think about riding with a cast. Stitches, I doubt it.
