Me in the Bs

I was late getting to my race on Thursday
so I signed up for the next race which was the Bs.

The Bs are a much larger group. 30 racers I guess.
They were not really any faster overall but there were
moments of sustained big time speed. The corners were
way sloppier with lots of breaking du to the large
field 5 wide going into the corners.

I spent the first half of the race in the top 10 then found myself
near the back trying to find ways back up. On the
last lap I got very aggressive and overtook on the
inside approaching a corner. A guy shut me down and
drove me into the curb. I braked, stayed upright,
people behind gasped, then I sprinted and overtook the
guy on the inside approaching the last corner. Same
move again to bring me closer to the front. It
worked. I had done a good job to get up to about
10th. The sprint took off at the front and I was
behind some guys who speed up a bit but did not hammer
so my sprint was initially dogged. I got around the
blockers and let loose my doom face sprint and passed a
couple and a couple passed me on the outside. Overall
I think I was in the top 10 or there abouts so I am
very pleased with my first race in the Bs.

Good work. Looks you should have been riding in that group for a while...

Yea, My results are crap in the Cs though. I have yet to make it into the top 5 in the Cs. I have to say, the same guys are repeatedly winning easily in the Cs and by the looks of it, they would do very well in the Bs. This sure has upped the competitivenes in the Cs however so the only real differance is the size of the field. 15 to 20 in the Cs to 30 to 35 in the Bs

Yeah, when I won the Bs here a few times in a row this spring, I went straight to the As -- where I'm still happy just to finish with the pack (which gets cut down by 2/3 every week). What are those guys gaining by winning in the Cs over and over again?

I don't think they win much as far a prize money. It is a typical industrial Park Thursday Nighter. Their name is up on the web site points as leaders so that has to be cool. I may continue in the Bs because it is more crowded and interesting but I have to kiss any podium finishes goodby.
