Congrats, Steve. No surprises there, though. You were looking pretty damn strong when we rode this winter.

Congrats indeed, and way to go at Cape Fear. What are your race plans for the rest of the summer? I can't seem to find info on any more races in the area...

No Carolina-area races for me until September. I'm going to a 5-week fat camp in Utah.

BTW, the definitive site for upcoming Carolinas race info can be found here.

Great job! Based on your reports here, you will do well in the 3's. Have fun - in my experience the 3s make for much livlier races than the 4s.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I'm a bit intimidated by the notion of racing with the 3s but it will serve as great motivation for me to continue to train hard.

As for Utah, I grew up there (insert joke here). It's a great place to be from (ha ha) and an even better place to visit. My parents still live there and I work remotely anyway so we'll hang out in the cooler weather and I'll try to do the Mt Nebo climb (6000 feet of climbing in 20 miles) once a week along with other high-altitude climbs. My goal is to come back weighing 70kg but we'll see how well that pans out. I still enjoy eating, no matter the altitude.

Dont be. You have proven yourself by not only accumulating required upgrade points, you've won several races ... you'll be very competitive right now.

I had to show that the distance and field size met the upgrade criteria (ie. at least 30 Cat4s), but yes.
