***Official Tour of the Hilltowns/BikeForums Northeast Showdown, 2007 Thread***

Alright....guess we can use this thread for any updates, discussions, friendly wagers, talking smack, etc. etc.

First things' first.....I was talking to Greg earlier, and we came up with perhaps doing a fairly informal group ride a couple weeks before the race - obviously this would apply to those folks in the New England area. A nice "mellow" pace for the most part (key word being "most")....how 'bout the weekend of August 4th? Now....we just need to figure out a fairly centralized location and a route. Oh....and a list of participants.

Post up yer names, and I'll make a list.

Second....we need to recruit some more peoples in the area to race, and then to attend the after-race bash at the Northampton Brewery (pending permission from Greg's people). Good times shall be had.

Oh, and Vino, if you're reading this, feel free to hop on a plane with your bike on the 17th. Just be sure to pre-reg soon. And Zimbo...you're only in N. Carolina. That's less than a 12 hour drive (I've made it to Myrtle Beach, SC from north of Hartford, CT in under 12 hours). And Snuffle....if your knees are fully functional by then, maybe you can carpool with Zimbo . Anyone else???

This would be the Cat 3 race of all races. Oh, and my buddy from work is looking forward to racing against you guys as well

All of this is thanks to Greg!

I think we all (especially me) owe him one (or more).

I'm honored to even be mentioned. You guys would eat me for lunch.

I'll still be at Fat Camp in Utah until mid-August. After that I might be up for something like this, though.

You guys could always come down to the NC/SC RR Championships on Sept 1st.

I will be back in town. Was thinking of doing the NYS TT championships (as long as they accept OSM) but maybe I should make the trek out your way. Any REAL climbs? And with it be the P/1/2/3 or the 3/4 event?

It's on the 18th Steve...

If carpooling is an option I'd give the idea serious consideration

I'll be going there after 7-10 days off the bike, sitting in a car, driving along the Mississippi. Ideal training.

Yes, you may be onto something with your training plan... Nothing like 1500+ foot climbs on blocked up legs

Fayettenam is only an 11 hour drive to MA . Maybe you can meet up with Dr. Petey en route.

Besides, where else are you going to get Cypress, Penguin, Dr. Bill, and botto in the same race?

Alright....who else is in...

P-diddy better show up.

I need to upgrade to a 4 ASAP so I can change over to the 3/4's for ****s and giggles. Not that I plan on finishing anywhere close to you guys, but it would be fun to be in the same race for at least the first 20 miles.

who said anything about finishing?

1. when i started college, our l'il baby faced assassin KP was still wearing diapers (i assume he no longer does).

2. where i live the only climb worth talking about is over 20 miles away, and it's less than 1km long.

Ok, so you're saying I'll have company while limping to the finish line?

Yep....they have a combined 3/4 field. After this weekend, I'll have 3 races under my belt. So...only gotta do 7 races in the next month or so to upgrade.
